Research Associate (Non-IT Position) — Traffic Operations

ABOUT US
We are an engineering technology firm in Golden seeking a talented, technically strong, and “unique” career-oriented individual with a “can-do” attitude.
Our ideal candidate will be able to balance a diverse and varied workload at any given time. Projects typically encompass data analysis and reporting, device testing and validation, staffing evaluation and justification, field surveys, and technological research related to transportation operations and asset management. The candidate must be able to draw correlations among several different data sets, highlight key findings, and develop recommendations for solving complex problems.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Primary duties include assisting the project managers with the following:
- Analyze data using Excel and other tools (GIS, Python, etc.)
- Develop graphs, tables, and other visuals for presentations
- Assist with data collection on case-by-case basis using available tools
- Compile technical information and data into case studies, reports, memos, etc.
- Attend project meetings as needed
- Think critically and creatively to develop ideas and solutions to provide clients with value
- Prepare project workflow diagrams and track progress on a weekly basis
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Our ideal candidate has the following:
- Recent college graduate or 1-2 years of experience
- Must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills, experience with other data analysis tools is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is a must
- Must be detailed and process oriented
- Must have the ability to analyze and interpret data for trends, anomalies, etc.
- Strong research, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand project end-goals, and ability to work independently
- Good technical writing skills are essential
- Mathematical/statistical or engineering education is preferred
